Irrigation pond
What is it?
An irrigation pond is a structure that stores the water you need to irrigate your crops. This water can come from several different sources, including rain, groundwater, and runoff from adjacent land.
A properly designed pond will allow for optimal water recharge, so that enough water accumulates to meet the irrigation needs of your crops. It will also be well positioned in relation to the plots to be irrigated or access roads, for example.
Finally, an irrigation pond can be more or less complex. Sometimes it is simply a rectangular hole in the ground. But it can also blend harmoniously into the landscape and promote biodiversity.
What’s in it for me?
By entrusting us with your project, you know that it will be taken care of from start to finish. First, the location of your pond will be determined based on the terrain of your land and the best possible use of your water sources. Your pond will also be the right size to meet the irrigation needs of your crops.
We will recommend options that protect the environment and ensure that everything complies with all applicable regulations.
Finally, designing your irrigation pond with our agricultural engineering team entitles you to certain subsidies from the Prime-Vert program.
Logiag‘s advantage
Logiag excels in the creation of extraordinary irrigation ponds. In 2023-2024, our team designed and supervised the construction of an exceptional pond located on Bishop’s University’s Educational Farm. Measuring 6,000 m3, this pond was designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape and promote biodiversity.
No matter the project, we always go on site to take all necessary measurements before planning, sizing, and recommending a structure. We also make sure to collaborate with you and consult you at every stage of the planning and design process.
